China Wok, located on Route 53 in Pembroke, will host a special fundraiser to benefit Bryantville Elementary School on Wednesday, April 28. Half of every order will be donated to Bryantville. Pembroke Public Schools transportation applications now are available online at pembrokepublicschools.org (click on “Departments” and “Transportation and Facilities”). Families with more than one student at any of the schools need to list all students on the same application. All students in grades 7-12 wishing to use school transportation must purchase a bus pass.

The Pembroke Community Middle School PTO will hold its last two meetings of the 2009-10 school year on Wednesday, April 14 and May 12. Both meetings will be held at 7 p.m. in the PCMS school library. The Pembroke High School Association for the Performing Arts will conduct its first silent auction in conjunction with the music department’s high school winter concert on Thursday, Dec. 10.

The Hobomock Holiday Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hobomock Elementary School. This fundraiser adds to the celebration of the holiday season with shopping for the children, food, local crafters and vendors, a cake walk, pictures with Santa, classroom raffle baskets and more. All proceeds help to fund the enrichment programs for the students of Hobomock. Vendor and crafter spots are available. Call Barbara at 781-294-9273 for information.

Pembroke Association for the Performing Arts will hold its third meeting of the school year on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at Pembroke High School library. When a Pembroke High School library intern conducted a survey last year of how much time students spent reading for pleasure, the results were not necessarily surprising.

The Adoption and Foster Care School Awareness Project (ASAP) will hold its Adoption and Education Forum 2009 on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pembroke Public Library, 142 Center St. This year’s keynote speaker will be Barbara Braun McDonald, clinical nurse specialist in adolescent and child psychiatry, a licensed mental health counselor and a registered attachment therapist who specializes in adoption and attachment issues. She will speak on “The Bridge to Home: Teachers and Parents Together Educating the Traumatized Child.”
